I headed back out into the unbearable desert heat, frustrated that I would have to sleep without anything good to wake up to. What I needed was a plan. As I walked amid the glitter and pizzazz that dominated Fremont Street, I was alone on the fray of society, not sure where to turn next.
I woke up alert but not fully rested in a small park a few blocks off the beaten path of downtown. I shared it with who I would call a drifter, or just a man down on his luck.i couldn't really tell what his problem was and didn't really care. I had my own problems.
